I have a rather big post on the "What a wonderful world..." blog on youth violence - what it is, what causes it and its impact on today's world.

Anonymous said...: I agree with the research on the causes or influencers of youth violence. I dont understand though why religion is either absent or so low on the list. After all more mayhem occures in the name of god then for any of the other reasons mentioned although they compound the issue and give it a thinly veiled and warped legitimacy. This said I would like to see a few discussions on the influence of religion along the lines of youth violence.

I agree with you on that, religion is one of the causes, but we've covered it under ignorace/intolerance. We did discuss how the madarasas are brainwashing a lot of Muslim youngsters all over the world to cause violence and that overlaps with education and lack of exposure as well. As we concluded in the email, the causes are a combination of multiple factors. We will definitely try and address your request on the influence of religion on youth violence. On the other hand, if you want to do the post yourself, we can provide for that as well.; 12:30 PM
